Some of the below Patrick Creed Immigration & Documents may be our Susan White's 2nd Husband.
First two documents below Patrick Creed, mostly
likely arrived 1840's during one of Ireland's Famines, possibly late 1840's.
This Creed joined the Army, 2nd US Artillery (Band?) Company A, enlisted
Dec 7th, 1849, just after the Mexican-American
war, according to the History of the 2nd, on June 1848, it was assigned to Fort
McHenry, Baltimore MD, where he enlisted.
After this Patrick Creed had served from Dec 7, 1849 to Jul 16, 1851, he was
listed as "Deserted". The age does not work,
he was listed as 21yrs old 1849, blue eyes, fair skin, 5ft-7 1/2in. Our Patrick
married Susan White about 1855, in Bowie County Texas.
I suspect, if this was our Patrick, he headed west to Texas, after his military
service. Take a look below and see how many other
soldiers are listed under DESERTED, their were many... During some wars Deserted
was used in place of Furlough at times.
Some Sheets were very long, so, I have to cut them in half, below, some sections are expanded to show more closely, the details.
Passenger Arrival Record: (no date provided, just 1820-1874:
