In his thirteenth year he, with the family of his parents, emigrated westward locating first at Carthage, where they remained some five years; then to Montana, Kansas, and thence to Oklahoma City, OKLA.; but in 1891 they returned to Clayton where the family home was again reestablished. In 1894 he married Miss Rosa Whitehead, the ceremony being performed at Marshall, ILL. They set up to housekeeping in Clayton and since then their home has been either in or near Clayton. To this union was born five children, as follows: Chester Arthur, who passed away in 1913; Verlin Lee, of Fairmount, In.; Hubert Kenneth, who was in the army at San Francisco when last heard from; Lawrence Leslie, now with Marines somewhere in China, and Wilbur Glover, of Wabash. In 1908 he transferred his membership to the Baptist church, of Clayton, where it has since remained. Mr. Glover first became a telegrapher but did not practice it long.
