Hey Jan,
Here is what I have on my White family tree. It is based on what
Mrs. R. L Brooks sent my grandmother years ago. I will include the
letter part of it, because it is interesting too. I just went through
some of the other stuff such as old letters and pics. When I am done
with that, then I will make the subsequent copies and send them to you.
Until then, here is all I have on the Whites:
"Spartanburg, S.C.
Apr. 10, 1975
"Dear Maud,
I am sending John william some White records, hope they will be
of help to him. I am still looking for records and will give him any
thing else I may find. Tell him I don't believe Col. Henry White was at
Glenn Springs as early as 1755. I am going by the "History of the
Presbyterian Chruch", by Rev. Geo. Howe, D.D. Pages 299 & 290 gives
Henry White on the Catawba in 1755, and also 1758. The things I've
copied from the Court house & Archives in Columbia are Correct I know,
and what I have from the Cemiteries is correct but I've never found the
old Bible, sure would like to see that very much. I contacted Miss
Little, Grandaughter of Jovan Barnett and she could not tell me
anything about this Bible.
I will copy something I have from Pennsylvania next time, as I
want my granddaughter to type it. If you have anything you think I would
like to have on your family, would appreciate it.
We are both better right now but have both been sick this
winter. The weather has been so bad here so much from rain and wind.
How old is the Grandson? Mine is 18 and is in College and 13 and
in 8th grade at school, and Amy is in the 10th.
Do you think yoiu have any Pictures of trhe Whites? I will see
if I have an extra of Henry and our Hiram if you don't have one.
Will stop for this time and write more next time. Write me when
you can, always love to hear from you.
With Love,
Della Brooks"
"Traditions says Henry White's father landed in Pennsylvania
about 1728, from England. Then moved into Northern Virginia, then came
to the Waxhaus in S.C.(Lancastor Co.). I have a copy of his Land Grant
to him in 1761. Col. White came to site of Glenn Springs about the year
of 1755. His Grave is near the old William Smith farm in upper Union co.
The settleing of Col. Whites's estate is recorded in Book B.,
Page 283, R.M.C. Office, Spartanburg, S.C., 1788."

Note just stuck into the middle of all this, from Mrs. R. L. Brooks:
" I am sure from information available the Harrison White place
where he lived & died on the section of Fair Forest Creek, near Foster's
Mill, was the home place of his father John White, and where he died as
there is an unmarked grave by the side of his 2nd wife,
Agath(Gibbs)White, in the Old Antioch Cemetary, which is also located on
Fair Forest Creek near Foster's Mill.
Wish I could prove this is his gracve so I could put a marker to
his grave."
The next page started off with this next name, simply Williom White, Jr,
with no explanations. I am not sure who he is or who he descended from.
Here he is:

Another note inserted in original list/letter from Mrs. R. L. Brooks by
her:
(White Records of Col. Henry White's family and descendants were
supposed to have been copied from White Bible at Javan Barnett's, near
Columbia, S.C. in the year 1906, by rufus West and revised by
W.J.White.) I have tried to find this Bible but no one seems to know
where it is now.
In 1787 John White conveyed land to William White.
(On this page was some loose names she must have just jotted down, and I
am not sure who they are[except for Julius C. White] or where they
belong in this tree. I wonder if these two or three names are supposed
to be Julius' children or something?)

Hey Jan,
That is about all I have on the Whites. I hope it will be of
some use or interest to you and others. I hope it doesn't seem all
jumbled up to you. Only those last few names were written by her
haphazardly, not letting know where they belonged. Anyway, I have sat at
this computer for about 5 hours going through stuff, typing, etc. My
posterior is molded to the contours of this chair. I have some more odds
and ends that I will snail mail to you.Anyway, I am descended from Hiram
and Sarah(King)White's son, John Warren White. His and Isabella's son,
Wm. Henry White is my mother's mother's father.
Take Care,
Dave
