Robert White Sr.'s Obituary
Translation and Copy of this Obituary provided by: Pat H. Boone OBITUARY. He lived in peace with all
men, as an evidence of which he spent his long life and was neither
engaged in a lawsuit or personal difficulty with any man. Having
served his God, his country and the church during a long life, he died as
he had lived, in full view (by faith) of a happy immorality (sp), beyond
the grave, after living to witness the hopeful conversion of all his
children (13 in number) to God; remarking in his last
hours, that he had trusted his Savior for
nearly seventy-seven years, and as he had never disappointed him, he was
not afraid that he should be forsaken in the last conflict. My copy is stamped on the back:

From Mrs. Mary Coppage's research notes we learn something about Mr. George Granberry: NOTE: Mr.
George Granberry is a Baptist minister mentioned in Mrs. Barfield's, Of Course Robert's
son BF White settled |
Notes: Rev. George Granberry of Harris Co GA was the Brother of Loammi Granberry, well known in the Baptist Church. George's ancestors arrived in Virginia in 1655. His lineage if full of Ministers very involved in the Baptist churches organization in the South. Other Granberry's of his lineage would become influential Officers in the Civil War. On May 5/7 1837 at the first meeting to reorganize the Mississippi State Convention held at Palestine Baptist Church, Rev George Granberry was present. It is my belief the BF White and Rev G
Granberry, were friends of some |
