**The Fairforest Church minutes (Aug 25 1832) show Elias his wife Annie and Russia  White being received at the church as new members on the same day, two years later (Jan 25 1834) this Russia White is dismissed from the Fairforest Quote: "Granted letter of dismission to Russia Wilbanks -- formerly Russia White", and is now a Russia Wilbanks, a descendant of this line contacted me and
suspects this is the daughter of Elias. Other name spellings;
Thursia - Jurushia - Jerusha - Rusha

From these two census records above, we know there had to be two or more unknown children.
We speculate at least two other children were born between 1810 & 1825. One possible name is
Russia White, who was received at the Lower Fairforest Baptist Church, exactly the same day as
Elias and Anne White, 25 August 1832. Russia was dismissed 25 Jan 1834, now named
Russia Wilbanks.  Another unknown could be Sarah White, who married Jeremiah Bobo before Elias's dau, Hester.
The other child (male) could have had the initials of L. L. or J. L. and may be buried at Creed Cemetery.

L L or S L White?

A review of the Original Poll Tax of 1846, 1848, shows "S L", easily mistaken to be L,
in the old style of writing, S can look like L, except, the S doesn't loop to the right bottom:

1846 Poll Tax
"looks like an L but is an S"

1848 Poll Tax   "looks like an L but is an S"

1846 - "S's" Same Poll Tax Taker in the S Column - for comparision: "S can easily be mistaken for an L"

S L White was involved in appraising a STRAY Horse:
Northern Standard and the Red River District
January 27, 1849

Strays
notice by S H McFarland, clerk, that a stray horse found by
E Runnels and appraised by R M Glover and S L White at
hearing before Jesse Daniel, Justice of the Peace of Bowie Co.

What's important here is S H McFarland, who's family
Jacob McFarland owned land near L L or S L White,
in Bowie Co, couple years later, Wm White had land just
south of Jacob McFarland's land.

==========================================

In a search of online records for Bowie Co he is listed as S L White:
Bowie Co TX 1846 Poll Tax
White, Ben
White, S. L.

===============================================

In a search of FamilySearch.com he is also listed as:
S L White 1848 Poll Tax for Bowie Co TX

1896 Tax List Bowie Co TX list:
S L White (not sure if he is the same man)

L L White is probably S L, a review of original Poll Tax 1846,1849, show S L White, but looks like L L...

Land Ownership Photo's from
Glenn Thrapp

Below shows our myterious L. L. (SL) White
suspected of being the Unknown Son of Elias White buried at Creed Cemetery

Now the question is, is the LL on this map, the same person
on the 1846 and 1848 Tax List? if so, then it appears the map
transcribers may have made a mistake...? as well as us...

S L White's Bowie County Poll Tax Records 1846 - 1848

L L is S L, a review of original Poll Tax, makes it obvious he is S L White,
In old writings, S look like L, however, if it loops to the right bottom of the L it is an L, if not L.

Jeremiah "Jerry" Bobo

Go to Sarah's & Jerry's Web Page

The 1830 census indicates 2 unknown females

The 2nd Female could very well have been Sarah White,
who married Jeremiah Bobo, and after her death in SC
married Hester White, Sarah's sister.  If this theory is
correct then the sisters married their first cousin, as
Jeremiah was the son of Elizabeth White Bobo, who
married Solomon Bobo Jr., Eliza was Hester's Aunt.
Jeremiah married Sarah Oct 28, 1841 had 2 children

1. Married Jerry 28 Oct 1841 Union Co SC.

2. 1st born child, Laura Jane Bobo 23 Feb 1843 Union Co SC.

3. Jeremiah & Sarah Bobo's SC Deed Sale Feb 1844
read the deed and Notes on their web page.

4. Sarah's Last Born Child:
Her last born child was James William Bobo, born:
29 Dec 1844.

5. Jeremiah Released from his church:

November 15, 1845, Jeremiah Bobo, 'was granted a letter of dismission' from the Padgett's Creek Baptist Church in Cross Keys Union Co SC, without 'Sarah', obviously, she died before this date.

6. Sarah Death:
Died between
Dec 29, 1844 and Nov 15, 1845.

7. Jeremiah Left for TX 1846 with Elias White
Jerry left with his 2 children Laura & James, along with his brothers,
Samuel, Green and Lewis.

8. Proof of marriages: Two Lots were left to "Jeremiah Bobo & Heirs"
in Elias White's Estate Partition - 1 for Hester's, 1 for Sarah's children???

No other children of Elias recieved '2' lots was meant for Hester and her Unknown Sister Sarah White. It appears this Estate document is the only actual proof of marriage of the two sisters to Jerry.

NOTES: the Case for Sarah Ann Bobo White;

From the 1830 census I have estimated her birth year as abt 1816, between the other two unknown children, of Elias, and her death about 1845, as on November 15, 1845, Jeremiah Bobo, 'was granted a letter of dismission' from the Padgett's Creek Baptist Church in Cross Keys Union Co SC, obviously, in preparation, for his journey to Texas, normally, it is Husband & Wife, named in a letter of dismission, which leads me to believe, Sarah had died before Nov 15, 1845. Note also, they married 1841, her last child, James Bobo was born Dec 29, 1844. Her death may have been related to child birth. Vital records were not required in SC until after 1900. She could be buried in on of the many unmarked grave stones, at Padgett's Crk Bapt. Church Cemetery.

Sarah was still alive Feb 9th, 1844, when she released her dower on a Deed of her husband, Jeremiah Bobo, read the Deed.

Also see the Estate Partition of Elias White, giving 'Jeremiah Bobo & Heir's 2 lots of land', where all his other children
and heirs only received '1' lot each, I believe the 2 lots assigned to Jerry were meant to cover Hester White and her
Unknown Sister Sarah White's children.  This document would also serve a proof of marriage to Hester & Sarah.
as all of the marriage records of Bowie Co TX were destroyed in the 1889 Court House Fire.
