Notes:
There's an opinion that Jerusha was a Eubanks, instead of White, then why was she received at the
Lower Fairforest Baptist Church in UC SC (1832), as WHITE along with Elias & Anna White, & then
dismissed as "WILBANKS formerly WHITE (Jan 1834)".  In the minutes of the Lower Fairforest Baptist Church,
there were no Eubanks in attendance until 1891-1906.  However, at the Padgett's Creek Baptist Church in Union
Co, there were many Eubanks & Wilbanks.  I note that Cooper & Jerusha, after Jan 1834, became members of this
church, until they left for Mississippi.  A Parry Wilbanks, also dismissied from the Padgett's 1834, must have traveled
to MS with them, as all 3 are on the membership list in Tippah Co MS, of the Chalybeate Baptist Church, where they
were received in March of 1854.  Padgett's Crk Baptist, was the original church the White's attended, many descendants
or Robert White Sr, father of Elias White, were still in attendance, at this church, when Cooper & Jerusha arrived there...
Jerusha 'White', would have had many cousins, aunts and uncles attending the Padgett's, I would also imagine, if she were
a Eubanks, she would have also had these same relations, as well as her husband, Cooper Wilbanks.  The 1830 Census is
key, as Elias White had a female born in Jerusha's birth period, one of 2 other unknown children of Elias & Anne White.

Jerusha White Wilbanks Census Records 1830-1900
 

AGE OF RUSSIA: 

From the 1850 census she was born 1814, which creates a bit of a problem as Elias White was about 17 years old at this time, and Anna about 14 yrs old.  We can only speculate on the their marriage date.    Take a look below at Russia's HEAD STONE inscription, says she was born 3/10/1828,
this makes it even more likely she is the daughter of Elias.  Her first born male is named Elizha, 
which I believe was named after her father, Elias.  I am inclined to believe a mistake was made on
the date of her headstone, as was common in those days, if it wasn't for the inscription
"wife of Cooper", I might dispel this stone...  She may have made herself OLDER, to bring herself
within the age of Cooper???  and after his death, making herself younger to appeal to other men, as
was and still is (forgive me) the practice...  :o)

H T's Civil War Roster

H T's Cemetery

He joined up with the 23rd Infantry Regiment with
his brother in law, Elisha Wilbanks, in 1862 the
regiment was sent to defend Fort Donelson TN,
were attacked by the Union Army, Thomas H was
captured Dec 1862, by the yanks and taken to Camp
Douglas IL, and became a POW, along with eventually,
62,000 Confederate soldiers, the camp was designed to
hold 10,000, about 6,000 total died, 4,200 recorded
deaths, died from various sickness. The Monument pictured
is where these southern soldiers were taken, after the Chicago
City Cemetery began flooding, now called Confederate Mound
at Oak Woods Cemetery Chicago IL.

Notes:
Some folks are confusing a Sarah Ann S Wilbanks Garrett of Rankin Co MS, buried
with a Jospeh Garrett, as our Sarah, I have laid out the Census for both couples, and
it is NOT possible they are the same, I would suspect our Sarah is probably buried
with Charles, unless she remarried? Sarah is not in FindAGrave with her husband?
I did not find her in the 1900 census, if she didn't remarry, it is possible she moved
in with one of her children, (work in process)

Case for the Unknown Daughter of Elias White

'A Theory'

Jerusha (Russia - Rusha - Jerusia - Jerushiat - Gerusha) 
[White] Wilbanks wife of Cooper Wilbanks

Jerusha is also thought to be a Eubanks, by many of 
her descendants, I have found no proof of this surname
all of the tangible evidence indicates she was a 'White'

The only hope I had of discovering Jerusha's parents was
a Death Certificate, however, the State of MS tells me that
they only have Death Certificates from 1912, so this will not
be an option, hopefully, I can find another source or contact. 

Folks really had fun with her name...  

This Theory started some years ago, a Mrs. Jonita Malone contacted me about Russia, she had for many years, been trying to find out who the father of Jerusia was... as her line was related to her, and thought maybe she was related to Elias & Ann White, because they were all three received at the Lower Fairforest Baptist Church on the same day.   At first I just shrugged-it-off, as a coincidence.   Several years pasted and I became curious again, of Russia, as there were two unaccounted children of Elias & Anna, and what were the chances of another White being received at a small county church the same day, if not Elias's daughter, I suspect a relative of sorts. 

Information began to come together, and before long a Theory began to develop...  I tried contacting Mrs. Jonita Malone to see if she was aware of the information I had found, and after many attempts at contacting her, discovered, from her husband that she had passed away, and with her the knowledge of Russia White.  So, again I raise the torch of 'Russia (White) Wilbanks', in memory to Jonita, a very kind and sharing person, who helped me in the early years of my family research in South Carolina. 

Russia White becomes Russia (White) Wilbanks.

The 1850 Census is what leads me to this theory, the 1830/40 Union Co Census indicates 
there is another female and male living in Elias's household, Russia may be one of these,
or a live in relative of Elias's, or just a good-old-coincidence, that she happened to be a 
White being received the same day as Elias & Anne White, at the Lower Fairforest... 

She named son Elizah, and her other children names match Robt White Sr's 
children names, except Amanda.  Elizah I suspect was an attempt to name a child after
Elias White, it appears Elizah died after 1850, and she named another child Elijah...

Finding an Obituary (1904) in Tippah Co could put closure to this theory, as some times
the father & mother are named... Have ask the Ripley Library in Tippah Co to look for this Obituary...
Or in a Christian Paper. [Update: they only had death index's, with Jerusha on it no Obit will take someone searching old newspapers of the time].

MARRIAGE DATE: 

Cooper Wilbanks is not listed as a member of the Lower Fairforest
church, thus, Russia (Jerusha), is dismissed, I would guess the marriage 
is close to dismissal date of 25 Jan 1834. And she joined him at his church
the Padgett's Creek Baptist, also in Union Co SC.
