Theory of Jeremiah's Burial Site
Originated by:
Billy Watts
(Boney descendant) "If Jeremiah moved from Davis County to Bell County with Laura Jane, W. W. Trimble, and John Lewis before the 1870 census and died in 1868, in Bell County, there may never be a grave site located. Aiken, Bell County Texas was flooded in the 1950's, when the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers developed Lake Belton. Where a lot of grave sites were located, and were moved to Moffat Cemetery in Bell County. There is the possibility that since the Bobo's and Trimble's used the Aiken Post office, in the 1870's, Jeremiah's grave may have been poorly marked or never relocated, prior to the flooding." |

Email from Descendant & Applicant Janet: Dec 22,
2018 Today, I received notification that I am accepted into the Huguenot Society of South Carolina. I’m so very excited! The application process was extensive and involved my providing Birth/Marriage/Death/Headstone/Census/Military/etc. records of 20 ancestors, including my parents, etc. as well as a 12 page application that had to be notarized. One of the benefits of my
applying through this society is that this organization provides (to
applicants) any ‘proof’ that the organization already has to help
simplify the application process. So, I didn’t have to totally start from
‘scratch.’ Still, the process is complicated and goes back to Gabriel
Baubeau in France. |
