Notes:
1870 - Cicero living at home with father & Brother Thomas.
1880 - Cicero married to Sallie (Sabra) Jane they have 2 children:
            Luther 2yrs, and Lela 4/12 b. Apr 1880. Sallie is 26 and
Cicero is 40, a farmer. Both Parents died by 1883.
1900 -  Luther Barnett born Dec 1876 23yrs. Living as a lodger
or boarder in BC Chapman's home, cant find sister Lela.
1910/20 - Cannot find Luther Barnett in SC.
Cedar Springs Cemetery
Lela and Luther are both buried at Cedar Springs Cem.

  There is a L G Barnett born Dec, 22, 1877 died: Jan 22, 1911,
I believe this is the son of Micajah & Sallie Barnett.  In 1880 he
was 2 years old, the 1900 census I suspect mistakingly showed
Dec 1876, that is not possible if he was 2 yrs old in 1880. 1877
would be the correct birth year, born in December would be
correct also. His parents may have married Jan or Feb 1877.

Lower Fairforest Baptist Church:

Susan (White) Coggins, would have been about 8 or 9 yrs old in 1829, when her
father Wm White died, this was to young to be received at a church, normally,
members were received sometime after their 21st birthdays.  This would account
for the absence of Susan in the Church minutes of the Fairforest, even though she
probably attended with her family.

The Accidental Death of Hattie Lou Coggins

Daughter of Albert & Sallie Coggins

Carolina Spartan Article:
December 7, 1906.

By Accident
Boy Kills
his Twin
Sister
Gun Was Suppose
to be Unloaded

Shot Also wounded
Little Negro Boy

     Terrible Accident occurred
at home of Mr. A. L. Coggins
about five miles from the city
on White Stone Road Little
Girl was standing near her little
brother at time the shot gun was
discharged -- she died instantly

Hattie Lou Coggins, the eight year
old daughter of Mr. A. L. Coggins
who lives about five mile from Spartanburg
on the White Stone raod was accidently
shot and killed yesterday by her
twin brother, William Heinitsh Coggins.
Herman Smith, a little negro boy nine
years of age, was also shot in the face
and is in a serious condition. The Little
girl received her death wounds from a
single-barrelled shot gun 2 gauge with
which the Coggins boy was playing with
which was thought to be unloaded.
The load of small shot entered the
little girl's breast, going though the
heart and producing death almost in-
stantly. The shot then struck the negro
boy who was standing near by and ser-
iously injured him. The boy will lose
an eye in all probability, if he recovers
from his wounds.

     The deplorable accident happened
yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in
the hall of Mr. Coggins home. The little
boy was very fond of playing with the
gun, which was always kept unloaded
it being thought yesterday to
be in this condition by Mr. Coggins. Mr.
Coggins was not at home at the time of
the accident and had to be summoned
from the field.

     Yesterday aftersnoon the children se-
curred what was supposed to be the un-
loaded gun and were in the hallway
playing with it. In some way the weap-
on was discharged, the load of shot
cutting short the life of the little girl.
The news of little Miss Coggins' death
was received, in Spartanburg yesterday
with much regret. She was eight years
and three months old and was loved by
all who knew her. She and her twin
brother in whose hands the gun was,
were the joy of their parents and her
death came as a great blow. Mr. Coggins
and his family are well known in
Spartanburg he having at one time lived
here and frequently came into the city
with his little boy and girl.
